Inspired by a photograph of two enchanting benches adorned with Talavera tiles at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, I felt compelled to recreate these benches with a touch of imaginative storytelling.
"A Courthouse Affair" tells the tale of a cowboy and a lovely flamenco dancer who married at this historic courthouse long ago. To celebrate their union, they sat on these beautiful benches, leaving behind a fragment of their love story. Though their tale has faded with time, this piece captures the essence of their romance and preserves their joyous moment, allowing their love to be encased forever in art.
